CHILD PROTECTION, CPiE and CHILD SAFEGUARDING PROFESSIONALS

1. BACKGROUND
Child Safe Horizons is a boutique organisation with well-known child protection experts. We focus on matching the skill base of our consultants’ roster with the needs of our clients.
Child Safe Horizons specialises in research, evaluation, program development and management in the various areas of: Child Protection; Child Protection in Emergencies; Child Safeguarding; Learning and Development; and Preventing Violence against Children.
The advantage of Child Safe Horizons is that we provide a team of consultants at the cost of one senior consultant. We deliver high quality and solid expertise at reasonable rates.
We see this resource pool as an identified[1] group of professionals who are available for deployment / lead consultancies and able to provide high quality results for CSH partners. This is a pool of professionals that CSH would like to invest in and draw upon in order to achieve agreed goals.
Please note that these expressions of interest are open to anyone that meets the criteria and with candidates who are either available full-time or could be deployed for special assignments from their respective organisations. We strongly encourage national and regional professionals to express their interest.
2. EXPECTATIONS OF CHOSEN PROFESSIONALS WITHIN THE ROSTER
  • Work with the Child Safe Horizons Senior Advisors and Director
  • Take advantage of CSH training opportunities as aligned with your competencies and experience
  • Indicate your availability as needs arise from CSH
  • Use tools and training packages developed and endorsed by CSH including IA packages supported by the CPWG, materials developed by Child Safe Horizons, or other professional training material mutually agreed on, as appropriate to the role
3. KEY COMPETENCES, TECHNICAL BACKGROUND, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • At least 8 years of progressively responsible, professional work experience on Child Protection, Child Protection in Emergencies and / or Child Safeguarding at the international level
  • In-depth experience of training development and delivery. Training qualification highly regarded.
  • In-depth experience in research and evaluations
  • In-depth experience in child protection, including in emergencies, as well as on humanitarian issues.
  • Experience working with governments and other key CP stakeholders/actors at national level.
  • Knowledge of the IASC humanitarian cluster approach.
  • Knowledge of the Child Protection Minimum Standards an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent skills in written English language, interpersonal communication at a distance and collaborative project management.
  • The ability to conduct training in English and at least one other language an asset.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to countries in crisis situations to support capacity-building initiatives.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office and PowerPoint.
* We are looking for consultants who are fluent in: Spanish, French, Arabic and other languages **
4. SELECTION PROCESS:

  • References checked
  • Prior work may be examined
