The Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) is an international organisation with 63 member states. We help our partners achieve good governance of the security and justice sector. We work with governments, parliaments, security and justice providers, international organisations, civil society and media to assist the development of transparent and accountable governance of the security sector. For our office in Tunis, we seek to recruit a highly motivated and qualified individual as:
Project Manager – Justice Sector Reform (100%)
Location: Tunis, Tunisia
Starting date: As soon as possible
Duration: 12 months
Your mission
Under the supervision of the Chargé de mission of DCAF Tunis, the Project Manager is responsible for advancing justice sector reform in Tunisia by conducting outreach to relevant stakeholders and contributing to the implementation of DCAF’s country strategy for Tunisia by managing projects related to justice and detention reform and independent institutions.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Advance the implementation of prison administration related projects according to work plan and budget
- Evaluate any evolving need and contribute to the design and planning of new projects
- Develop logical frameworks, work plans, budgets and monitoring and evaluation frameworks
- Organise workshops and training courses
- Report regularly to DCAF, the relevant authorities and donors
Your profile
- An advanced university degree in a subject of interest to our Centre
- A minimum of 3 years work experience in public sector reform or management, preferably within the field of justice and/or prison administration
- Proven track record in managing projects, preferably in the MENA region
- Excellent command of French (written and spoken), very good command of English; knowledge of Arabic is an asset
