Grants & Partnership Coordinator

by Unknown  |  at  8:20 AM

Grant & Partnership Coordinator, Sierra Leone
LOCATION: Freetown, Sierra Leone
CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed Term
SALARY RANGE: £23,326 - £27,000
Oxfam is a global movement of people who won’t live with the injustice of poverty. In Sierra Leone, Oxfam’s work spans across WaSH, Women’s rights, Livelihood, Policy & Advocacy work as well as responding to Humanitarian crisis. The funds we raise from our donors make a huge difference to people throughout the country.
The Freetown WASH Consortium (FWC) brings together four agencies (ACF, Concern, Oxfam GB and Save The Children) in which Oxfam is the lead agency. Since 2010, the FWC programme has been delivering holistic WASH work that has provided over 100,000 people with improved access to water; more than 20,000 with improved sanitation; and an estimated 400,000 with positive hygiene messaging. The Consortium focuses on four main areas: WASH service delivery following a community led approach; disaster risk mitigation; capacity building of community structures and Government of Sierra Leone stakeholders; and advocacy on sector financing.
The Sierra Leone Country Programme is looking for an experienced and qualified individual to fill the following post:
Grants and Partnership Coordinator
The Role:
The Grants and Partnership Coordinator will be part of a dynamic programme team, pulling together reports and proposal submissions and making sure that systems and processes are in place so that we are accountable for the funds we receive. We seek to hire an experienced Grants and Partnership Coordinator who will be responsible for the day-to-day grant operations, systems and workflow management of the Freetown WASH Consortium grant development. The successful candidate will engage in the early stages of planning for each grant cycle and assist with the review process to ensure proper due diligence of all proposals. S/he will be responsible for grant data management from application to grant closure, and will support program and senior leadership data requests on a routine basis. The Grants and Partnership Coordinator is expected to partner with programme team members, to ensure compliance and effective grant management practices are consistent, equitable and focused on maximizing programme implementation and impact. S/he will be solution-oriented and a self-starter who is inspired by the mission of Oxfam and the Freetown WaSH Consortium.
Under the direct supervision of the Freetown WASH consortium Director, the Grants and Partnership Coordinator will be an integral member of the Consortium Coordination Unit. S/he will be responsible for ensuring effective formal partnership processes (with an emphasis on sub-grants, but also assisting the operations department with sub-contracts), as well as ensuring Consortium grant details are well-maintained.
What we are looking for:
  • As a minimum qualification, must hold at least an MBA or equivalent in business administration/studies, finance, accounting, or related field.
  • At least 5 years’ professional experience of managing grants and compliance for institutional donors such as DFID,
  • Good organizational, administrative and personal management skills, with ability to prioritise work issues to meet deadlines with minimal supervision and adjust to constantly changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery and follow-through
  • High level of report writing, numeracy, budgeting, review and analysis and IT skills.
  • Experience of working with local partners/sub-grants
