by Unknown  |  at  5:16 AM

“All children should be able to achieve the greatest possible realization of their innate, intellectual potential.” Oscar van Leer
The Bernard van Leer Foundation is a private foundation that makes grants, shares knowledge and conducts advocacy to improve the situation of young children growing up in social and economic disadvantage. We see this both as a valuable end in itself and as a long-term means to promote more cohesive, considerate and creative societies with equal opportunities and rights for all.
We are currently seeking an exceptional individual to take on the role of Programme Director. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Programme Director’s main responsibilities will be to:
  • Lead and manage a global team whose work currently spans eight countries and involvement in a variety of international partnerships;
  • Act as one of the Foundation’s principal advocates, responsible for brokering and leading a set of strategic partnerships that help leverage Foundation knowledge for impact on young children around the world.
The successful candidate will pick up a broad portfolio of programme work and must have an extensive range of skills. S/he must be able to demonstrate significant programme management experience, outstanding people management skills and a track record of delivering transformational change. S/he will have strong policy and analytical acumen as well as keen political antennae and the ability to work effectively in a variety of cultural environments.
As a critical member of the Senior Management Team and key advisor to the Executive Director, the successful candidate must have excellent strategic vision and the ability to translate that vision into action. In addition, the role requires an individual with the ability and gravitas to build and influence effective alliances that will further advance the Foundation’s mission around the world.
Perhaps most importantly, s/he will demonstrate a strong commitment to the vision, mission and values of the Bernard van Leer Foundation.
To apply or to download further information on the required qualifications, skills and experience for the role, please visitwww.perrettlaver.com/candidates quoting reference 2034. The closing date for applications is 9am (BST) on Wednesday 20th May 2015.
The Bernard van Leer Foundation is an Equal Opportunities Employer and particularly welcomes applications from a diversity of backgrounds and experience.
The role will be based in The Hague and the salary will be competitive with market rate.
