by Unknown  |  at  10:28 AM

Training for Peace (TfP) is an African research, policy development and capacity building programme funded by the Norwegian Government. Established in 1995, it works through civil society institutions to strengthen Africa’s peace operations capacity, especially its civilian and police dimensions.

The current TfP 2016 – 2018 phase is designed to support the African Union Commission (AUC) to help achieve the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) and its linkages with the African Governance Architecture (AGA). TfP 2016 – 2018 will therefore be guided by current and future AUC roadmaps and work plans related to APSA and AGA.

Implementing partners for TfP 2016 – 2018 are the African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD), the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) and the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI).

TfP is seeking to appoint a Coordinator who will provide a secretariat function for the programme, based in Addis Ababa. The Coordinator will help implement the TfP programme and increase the visibility, coordination and coherence of the programme with respect to its agreed activities with the AUC, partners and stakeholders. The Coordinator will report to the TfP Governing Board and will be administratively managed by the ISS.
