WASH Program Intern, Washington DC

by Unknown  |  at  9:32 AM

Organization: Millennium Water Alliance (MWA), www.mwawater.org
Time:15-24 hours per week
Stipend:  Maximum of $600 per month possible
Education: Currently enrolled in a BA/BS or Masters program
Location: Washington, DC
Required Technical Skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, writing, editing, website management, social media use
Period: January 2016 through May 2016
The Millennium Water Alliance is a 501(c)(3) coalition of America’s leading charities working to bring clean, safe drinking water and sanitation to millions of the world’s poorest people in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Founded in 2003, MWA seeks to advance high standards for program quality, transparency, and accountability, and work with its members to bring to scale effective and sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene education solutions.
The Millennium Water Alliance is looking for an intern for the Spring of 2016 to work with our programs team and on our communications materials, including the website and social media.  The intern will assist the WASH Program Officers and the Director of Advocacy in various responsibilities in WASH programs and their requirements to donors.  This includes: program reporting, both quantitative (output spreadsheets) and qualitative (narrative reports); Monitoring and Evaluation (data validation and analysis); and learning/communications (case studies, narrative articles, etc.).  We are looking for someone with experience/interest in WASH or international development, as well as strong research, writing, and analytical skills.  The work is varied and stimulating, and the intern should be ready to “wear many hats,” taking on different roles depending on what is needed.   This would be a great opportunity to dive into program coordination, WASH, M&E, public policy, communications, and how NGOs work in international development.
How to Apply:
Applicants should forward a cover letter, a resume in reverse chronological format, and a list of at least three professional references (name, contact information, and statement of relationship to the reference) to info@mwawater.org. Do not call in reference to this position. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
