Policy Officer – Growth Corridor Science to Policy Project: 
Navigating socially accepted trade-offs for equitable green growth 

The WWF (World-Wide Fund for Nature) Tanzania aims to sustain Tanzania's outstanding and globally significant natural wealth and biodiversity, and in doing so support local livelihoods and national economic development. WWF is one of the World's largest and most respected independent conservation organizations and WWF Tanzania continues to maintain the standards of excellence in conservation in delivering its country strategy.  
The Luc Hoffmann Institute is an independent research hub at WWF responding to global change. Our mission is to co-create solutions and build capacity to address complex environmental, social and economic challenges to achieve conservation impact. We collaborate with world-class experts to address complex conservation questions where solutions are time-dependent and traditional institutions are ill-equipped to respond.  
Summary of the Job:
The successful candidate will coordinate WWF Tanzania boarder engagement in the Southern Agricultural Growth Corridor of Tanzania (SAGCOT) corridor and in particular support the work of the Green Reference Group. The Policy Officer will ensure good execution of the project Equitable Governance of African Growth Corridors, ensuring the effective if the co-design processes and translating the project science into policy and action.  

Main duties and responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day project management and coordinate SAGCOT related stakeholder outreach and engagement on green growth, including preparation of workshops and meetings for the project; coordinate policy outreach and engagement efforts for the project in Tanzania; Lead on the science-to-policy needs of the project, translating the project’s science into policy and actions; Support some research components and integrate local relevant research institutes within the project; Work with guidance from Advisory Team composed of technical experts, key WWF practitioners and key decision-makers; Facilitate internal coordination, and liaising with partners as well as broader corridor initiatives; Coordinate the work on effective civil society participation to bring in aspects of better governance into the corridor; Identify and support capacity needs and support capacity building in the SAGCOT. 
Required Qualifications

A minimum master’s level degree from a recognised academic university in an appropriate field of study; Project management and coordination experience; or policy engagement experience; Deep understanding of the African agricultural, infrastructure, development, and policy making & implementation context, including related political affairs, investment, markets, trends, preferably East African; Successful experience of communicating and working with diverse stakeholders, and including community, private sector, non-government and governmental organisation.
