Chemonics seeks an Expedited shipments (internal couriers) specialist for USAID's anticipated Tunisia Tax and Customs Reform Pilot (TCP) Activity. The objective of the activity is to strengthen the Tunisian government's capacity to implement transparent tax and customs reforms to promote employment, investment, and growth. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist customs in implementing previous TCP recommendations regarding the four categories of treating expedited/courier shipments at international airports
- Develop and propose new procedures for each expedited shipments category
- Present the proposed new procedures to customs and courier operators
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the customs advisor
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in customs, international trade, law, or customs administration preferred
- Fifteen years of experience in customs administration
- Eight years of experience in international development; field experience in developing countries is an advantage, preferably in the Middle East and North Africa region
- Ability to work closely with government counterparts and ministry officials
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; French and English required
