A new packaging company which supplies customers across the globe with a variety of standardized and custom cardboard box products is currently seeking to recruit a Finance Manager.Roles & Responsibilities
• Establish and maintain an integrated financial system and plan of operations with other management functions for both short and long term in line with company objectives.• Establish and maintain a computerized system of accounting to enable financial statements be prepared, kept consistent with generally accepted accounting principles, the Companies Code and other relevant statutory laws.
• To devise a financial structure and strategy to ensure a financial structure that is optimal and efficient in respect of taxation and which, without breaching the tax regimes in place, minimizes the Company’s exposure.
• Establish and maintain a system of internal controls to ensure operational efficiency and safeguard the assets of the Company against fraud, errors and other irregularities.
• Keep under constant review the financial position of the Company, develop a treasury function which will ensure sufficient internal and external sources of funds and maintain an effective cash management system to ensure satisfactory levels of liquidity and cash utilization to the best advantage of the Company’s operations.
• Establish appropriate systems, structures and procedures for developing budgets and long term plans and institute satisfactory standards to measure and monitor actual performance.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial data, review financial statements, facts, statistics and analysis and interpret same to management to assist in formulating plans and policies.
• Ensure the provision of adequate insurance cover for Company’s properties
• Supervise and maintain statutory records ensuring that they are kept in accordance with Government regulations and that the company’s financial operations and all necessary returns (Income Tax, Social Security, VAT and other statutory requirements) are made and do comply with all relevant statutory regulations.
• Supervise the work of the ICT department ensuring that they control the systems and networks of the Company, and ensure that they are in workable order and properly safeguarded against all risks and unauthorized use.
• Foster a strong, cordial and mutually beneficial working relationship with the appropriate external bodies and agencies (Customers, Financial Institutions, Auditors, IRS, VAT Service) to engender a healthy and favorable working relationship.
• Develop, operate and maintain an efficient procurement system to ensure the regular availability and timely acquisition of necessary supplies at competitive prices and at the right time.
• Ensure the establishment of a strong stores management function to adequately safeguard the raw material assets of the Company.
Requirements
- University Degree with Accounting/Finance as a major
- ACCA, CIMA, CA or CPA
- Ten (10) years post qualification experience, 5 years of which should be in senior management position with a reputable manufacturing company,
