OFDA Wash Project Manager – Central Africa Republic

Here’s where you come in:
As OFDA Wash Project Manager you will provide overall leadership in the implementation of the Lobaye and Ombella M'Poko Emergency WASH Assistance (LOMEWA), Central African Republic (CAR). You will provide leadership in entail planning, support and management of the project so that activities and outputs remain on track and the program contributes to its main goal of meeting life-saving Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) and Non Food Items (NFI) needs of conflict affected populations in Lobaye and Ombella M’Poko prefecture in the Central African Republic. The project will partly be implemented by a local partner ICDI. Therefore, your responsibilities will also include the management of the relationship with the local partner as well as monitoring of implemented activities.
Requirements include:
  • WASH Engineer, Postgraduate in Humanitarian Studies, Food security, WASH, Public Health, social sciences, international affairs, Program management or related field. Master's degree will be an advantage.
  • Relevant professional experience managing and implementing large projects in Africa (assessment, proposal development, report writing and evaluation, etc).
  • 4-6 years of experience focused in the management of humanitarian programs involving rural communities to promote humanitarian response.
  • Excellent English and French communication skills (oral and written).
  • Work environment: Field-based (Boda) with frequent travel to National offices in Bangui and implementation areas.
