International Women’s Initiative (IWI) is an organisation which raises awareness of the threats to the human rights of women across the globe and to promote and assist in the achievement of gender equality. Since 2012, IWI has worked to eradicate and educate on human rights violations against women. As an organisation which is run 100% by volunteers, we are looking for a Director of Human Resources who can help lead IWI while ensuring we remain true to our mission and goals.
Job Description
Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Director of Human Resources to ensure that all human resources (HR) operations are carried on smoothly and effectively. You will be responsible for developing HR strategies, including employment, compensation, labour relations, training, and employee services by performing the following duties, as well as providing sound advice to senior management on all related subjects.
Responsibilities
- ▪ Collaborate with management team to carry out IWI’s vision and mission
- ▪ Develop strategic HR plans and policies (recruitment, training, compensation etc.)
- ▪ Hire, guide and evaluate the work of staff
- ▪ Decide and act on initiatives for equal opportunity, diversity etc.
- ▪ Assume responsibility of staff relations
- ▪ Re-engineer processes to ensure maximum efficiency
- ▪ Ensure all procedures comply with legal regulations and best practices
- ▪ Analyse the effectiveness of HR operations and policies
- ▪ Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- ▪ Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
- ▪ Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization
- ▪ Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
- ▪ Nurture a positive working environment
- ▪ Manage the recruitment and selection process
- ▪ Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
- ▪ Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
- ▪ Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics
- ▪ Ensure legal compliance
Requirements
- ▪ Proven working experience as HR manager
- ▪ People oriented and results driven
- ▪ Demonstrable experience with HR metrics
- ▪ Knowledge of HR systems and databases
- ▪ Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
- ▪ Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- ▪ Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of IWI
- ▪ In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR best practices
- ▪ BS/MS degree in Human Resources or related field
- ▪ Passionate about IWI’s mission and impact
- ▪ Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work
- ▪ Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- ▪ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ▪ Proficiency in English
- ▪ Discretion and confidentiality
- ▪ Based in London preferred
