Supervision
The Reporting and Research Officer will report to and be under the direct supervision of the REACH Global Coordinator.
Tasks
Under the supervision of the REACH Global Coordinator and in liaison with IMPACT country teams, the Reporting and Research Officer will be responsible for reviewing, editing and finalizing information products such as reports, situation overviews and fact sheets.
This includes:
- Verify and support the validation of all IMPACT research products
- When requested, directly draft written outputs (reports, factsheets, profiles etc.) based on data collected from field teams. Conduct reviews of secondary data to complement, verify and triangulate primary data
- Ensuring that all research cycles, both at global and country level, comply with internal Impact Initiatives procedures (including milestones documentation)
- Keep track of all Impact Initiatives research cycles progress and schedules in liaison with Geneva Program Units and with country offices
- Report internally on updates about research cycles and related information products, on a weekly and monthly basis
- Liaise with Grant Management and Communication Dept. for project and communication follow ups
- Provide additional information and support as and when required by other departments
Required:
- Excellent academic qualifications, including a Master degree in relevant discipline (International Relations, Political Sciences, Social Research, Economics, Anthropology, Assessment, or similar)
- Demonstrated quantitative and/or qualitative analytical skills
- Excellent communication and drafting skills for effective reporting in English
- Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility
- Familiarity with the humanitarian aid system
- Ability to operation Microsoft Word
- Advance Excel user
- Ability to work independently, with initiative, and strong capacity to work in intercultural teams
- Availability to travel to field missions if and when required
Desirable:
- Experience in assessments, M&E, field research, evaluations an asset; preferably in an international context
- Experience with programs under Adobe Software package (InDesign, Illustrator).
- Knowledge of other research and analysis related software such as SPSS, STATA, NVIVO, Tableau, etc.
