WASH Programme Manager, Lesotho

The British Red Cross (BRC) helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies. We enable vulnerable people in the UK and abroad to prepare for and withstand emergencies in their own communities. And when the crisis is over, we help them to recover and move on with their lives.
Reporting to the London-based Country Manager, the post holder will be based in Maseru and work with the Lesotho Red Cross (LRCS) to ensure the timely and quality implementation of the WASH programme which is funded by the Australian Government (DFAT). The Programme Manager (PM) will draw on the technical support of members of the British Red Cross (BRC) International Directorate, specifically the WASH Advisor, Regional Logistics Coordinator, Regional PMEAL Advisor and International Programmes Account to oversee year 3 and Year 4 programme implementation. S/he will lead the programme management and will support LRCS to implement the WASH activities. S/he will have responsibility for financial management of the programme and reporting in line with DFAT funding requirements. S/he will have responsibility for ensuring LRCS logistical procedures are followed and contracting and procurement is in line with these procedures, as well as working with the BRC WASH Technical Advisor to ensure that the programmes reflects BRC’s technical approach to WASH, including constructing quality software programmes and longer term operations and maintenance.
