Chief Executive, Compassion UK

by Unknown  |  at  3:32 PM

Are you motivated to bring real hope to millions of children living in extreme poverty? Are you passionate about inspiring the UK to take action in order to transform children’s lives?
One of the most respected Christian child-focused ministries, Compassion UK works with the local church and partner organisations to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name and address all aspects of child welfare in some of the world’s poorest communities. Operating in twenty six countries around the world, we are passionate about bringing Christ into the heart of everything we do, and working to the highest standards of professional excellence to serve children who are in the greatest need, regardless of race, religion, gender and nationality. We have a vision to be trusted by the Church worldwide as the leading authority for holistic child development and to be the global benchmark for excellence in child sponsorship.
Compassion UK has a rare opportunity for a dynamic individual to fill the role of Chief Executive. Building on an impressive record of growth and reporting to the Board of Trustees, with a close working relationship with the Chair, the Chief Executive will be responsible for leading our activities in the UK, including increasing child sponsorships; campaigning; and building a strong profile. S/he will play a key role as an ambassador for Compassion UK locally and internationally as part of Compassion International, and will be responsible for developing relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
We are seeking an outstanding and distinctive individual to lead us through our next phase of development and manage this diverse, progressive and dynamic organisation. The Chief Executive will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction which inspires, engages and motivates employees, supporters and partners to deliver our mission effectively and efficiently within the Compassion International community.
The successful candidate will demonstrate significant experience of leading and managing complex international organisations and professional expertise in a mix of strategy development, marketing, fundraising and commercial management. S/he will be innovative and motivational with excellent ambassadorial skills and the ability to build strong relationships across a complex stakeholder map. Experience of working in a charity and/or international development is desirable but not essential.
Compassion UK is seeking a leader of integrity, wisdom and organisational insight, who holds their Christian faith at the heart of all they do. A heart for the poor and a commitment to the mission of Compassion UK are essential.
The role is based in Weybridge with regular meetings in London, and the salary is competitive with the market rate and commensurate with the seniority of the appointment.
