The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has the mandate to foster economic growth in Asia by investing in infrastructure and other productive areas and promoting regional cooperation and partnership. As a new multilateral financial institution, AIIB's approach will be "lean, clean and green", with a focus on efficiency, sustainability and transparency. The Bank will also work closely with the existing Multilateral Development Banks -- complementing, supplementing and enhancing their development efforts. The Bank is expected to be open for operations in 2016.

Vice President and Chief Investment Officer
The primary responsibility of the Chief Investment Officer is leading the planning and supervision of AIIB’s infrastructure investment by promoting sustainable investment throughout Asia that is consistent with AIIB’s vision, goals, and strategies, and by ensuring the relevance, effectiveness and efficiency of AIIB operations.
Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Oversee the quality of investment projects and ensure the achievement of objectives, including satisfactory results of project delivery in client countries
- Lead the development of policies and guidelines in support of AIIB’s lending/investment strategy
- Provide input to Executive Committee (ExCo) on various organization-wide issues such as strategies and policies, annual and medium-term work plans, and major operational matters; keep BOD and ExCo informed of emerging developments, opportunities and challenges
- Serve as a primary member of the Investment Committee in project selection and approval
- Engage in and promote policy advocacy on issues of strategic importance with relevant government authorities/member countries
Candidate Requirements:
Minimum 20-25 years of experience in a leadership function and position of influence in multilateral development bank(s) or equivalent; strategic visioning and superior influential communication skills; substantial professional experience in at least one, preferably two of the primary sectors (Energy, Transport, Water); experience in both public and private sectors; strong operational experience related to infrastructure investment in managing regional strategy/programs. Master’s degree equivalent or above in related fields from reputable university.
