Expert (m/f) Financial Management Country Office
in Bangui, Central African Republic
The post is to be filled as soon as possible with an initial contract duration of until 31 December 2017. The place of work is Bangui, Central African Republic.
Objectives and responsibilities of the position
As Expert for Financial Management in the country office, you are responsible for the establishment of a financial structure and all financial administrative processing in the Central African Republic. The goal of the post is to provide support for the projects in the region in accordance with the framework specified as regards content, time schedules and finance.
Your most important duties are as follows:
- Establishing and maintaining a programme wide financial management system
- Ensuring sound budget planning when project proposals are being drafted
- Assisting the Country Director with carrying out his supervisor duties related to programme administration
- Monitoring and ensuring the accurate and prompt drawing up of internal and external financial reports in accordance with the appropriate guidelines
- Monitoring and ensuring the proper planning of financial and other resources
- Providing guidance and training for local financial experts and project partners in line with WHH policy to enhance national staff capacity
Your qualifications will include:
- a university or polytechnic degree or completed commercial training, together with additional specialist knowledge, for example in the fields of accounting and controlling
- several years project-related professional experience in the administration of co-financed projects for international (aid) organisations - preferably in the region
- coordination and organisational skills, even under high workload
- communication skills and ability to work in a team
- willingness and ability to work in a crisis region
- a very good command of French and English are a prerequisite, German language skills are an asset
