Position: Privatisation in Education and Human Rights Consortium Coordinator
Location: Any Country where AAI has an office
Duration: 1 year Part-Time Contract with possibilities of extension (3 days a week)
Remuneration: Salary of £17,508.26 per annum International Grade C
Note that no expatriate or relocation benefits will apply for this role

Privatisation in Education and Human Rights Consortium is an alliance working on privatisation of education and its implications for right to education. This Consortium is currently steered by 8 organisations -ActionAid International, Amnesty International, Global Campaign for Education (GCE); Global Initiative on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (GI-ESCR); The Privatisation in Education Research Initiative (PERI), Oxfam, RESULTS Educational Fund and Right to Education Project, and is working in collaboration with regional and national organizations focusing on right to education.
Purpose of the Role:
This role will coordinate Privatisation in Education and Human Rights Consortium, act as the focal point for joint project activities, oversee the management of events, produce communications materials, and oversee joint advocacy and media dissemination strategy. The Coordinator will be based in ActionAid but ultimately accountable to the Consortium Steering Committee. Refer to the detailed job description.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Coordinate the planning and implementation of consortium’s strategy, including annual plans for key priority areas.
· Coordinate the production and dissemination of joint communications products (reports, press statements, social media etc.), collective actions and statements in collaboration with consortium members
· Collate and manage media contacts, press releases and disseminate content Produce case studies and materials for the network based on research conducted by members and partners
· Facilitate information sharing, networking and dissemination of lessons learned amongst existing and new Consortium members
Desired Skills & Experience
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree (B.A.),
- Good demonstrable experience in communications, project management and/or network coordination
- Proficiency in English and French/Spanish; Knowledge of Arabic and/or Portuguese will be an advantage.
- Experience of research and writing for non-academic or general audiences
- Experience working with networks
- Background in comparative education and/or human rights preferred
- Ability to work as a team member and independently, with a high-level of self-motivation and autonomy;
- Experience of communications and social media would be an advantage .com/
