PM Protection-Cameroon

ROLE, TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Child Protection Project Manager will be responsible to coordinate the implementation of activities related to Child Protection. S/he is expected to use a participatory approach to identify needs, design, implement and facilitate activities which develop a sense of community and strengthen community support systems. Specifically s/he will be responsible:
  • To develop relations, confined to project activities, with UNICEF’s staff in loco and child protection technical support units abroad, local NGO’s and authorities; operate following guidelines from the Head of mission and contribute to the definition of Intersos’ strategies.
  • To attend all coordination meetings and report to the HoM.
  • To develop good working relationship with all local and INGOs implementing/operational partners in Cameroon.
  • To assume in collaboration with the Education Project Manager and administration and logistic staff the responsibility for the management of economic and financial administration related to the project and for its entire implementation process, and to ensure the achievement of the objectives and results.
  • To assume the responsibility of the security management project related in collaboration with the Head of Mission and the Regional Director.
  • Manage human resources within the project and carry out performance appraisals.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum High school degree in social assistance better if holder of University degree in Psych/social sciences, juridical or international Human rights competences/familiarity;
• At least 3 years of experience in Child Protection management and relevant experience in Child Friendly spaces methodology;
• Good knowledge of the procedure of international donors; Previous experiences in the competences required, knowledge of UN procedures, mainly UNICEF, and UNHCR
• Proficient or working knowledge of French and intermediate knowledge of Italian. It’s agreed also an intermediate knowledge of English
• Proven people management and leadership skills: the ability to lead staff and promote productivity in a pleasant work environment;
• Comfortable with computer use;
• Self-starter with ability to work autonomously;
• Management skills and capacity of working in a volatile security environment.

Availability: Immediate (maximum 2 weeks’ notice)
Duty station: Camerun, Baturi
Family duty station: No
