Deputy Team Leader – Rwanda Multi Donor Civil Society Support Programme
Objective of the Programme:
DAI is bidding for a DFID donor-funded programme in Rwanda focusing on improving collaboration and working relations between civil society organisations (CSOs) and government to strengthen the promotion of human rights, good governance, social cohesion and reconciliation, and public accountability.
Scope of Work:
The Deputy Team leader will work alongside the Team Leader, provide support on overall programme management and advise on governance and CSO matters in Rwanda.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide inputs into working on CSO coalitions
- Support efforts in translating high-level performance indicators to the grassroots
- Ensure engagement and effective learning throughout the programme
- Ensure the programme works closely with existing initiatives and counterparts to strengthen media coverage and debate in Rwanda
- Contribute to efforts in meeting donor reporting requirements as well as reporting to DAI home office
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years working with CSOs in a developing country context, preferably in the Great Lakes Region in Africa
- Experience with Issue Based Coalitions and project design
- Strong project management and team management experience
- Experience working with DFID and/or other donors
- Experience working in Rwanda and/or East Africa
- Solid understanding of CSOs and other relevant grassroots organisations
- Understanding of constitutional and electoral reform, government accountability, transparency and political processes
Education: An advanced Degree in Political Science, International Development, Public/ Business Administration or related area is required
Anticipated Project Start Date: May 2015
Project Duration: 5 years and potential 2 year extension
Project Location: Kigali, Rwanda
