Medical Care Development International is recruiting a Water and Sanitation Specialist for routine project backstopping and proposal development in the home office located Silver Spring, Maryland.
The Water and Sanitation Specialist should possess the following skills and abilities
- Knowledge of borehole well and latrine construction
- Experience overseeing construction of wells and latrines
- Experience working with local communities to maintain and promote construction and use of water and sanitation facilities
- Experience designing and implementing BCC strategies promoting health and hygiene
- Proven ability to participate in the preparation of proposals focusing on the water and sanitation sectors
- Ability to provide in-country technical assistance to countries in the design and launch of WASH pilot
- Build internal WASH technical capacity in MCDI and manage WASH related knowledge through multiple media
Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering, International Public Health or related degree if supported by salient experience.
- Minimum 5 year professional experience
- Understanding of international WASH policy and context
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Fluency in English required
- Fluency in French preferred
