RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Engility Corporation, building on IRG’s legacy in international development, is currently seeking an Energy Efficiency Promotion Specialist for an anticipated USAID-funded energy project in Jamaica and the Eastern Caribbean. The project is intended to assist in:
- Establishing effective policy, regulatory and incentive environments for energy efficiency and low-emission (generation) growth in the energy sector.
- Attract public- and private-sector investment in clean energy development.
- Developing new financial tools for energy efficiency and renewable energy with a particular focus on hotel and tourism sectors.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The Energy Efficiency Promotion Specialist (EEPS) must have demonstrated competence and success in the planning and design of energy efficiency promotion programs, with particular emphasis on developing financial tools that support uptake of energy efficiency measures. The EEPS will ensure that Task activities are on track to meet established CARCEP program targets for numbers of tourism properties that implement energy efficiency measures and for number of MW of energy demand reduced. This position will be located in the Eastern Caribbean region.
This is a contingent position based on funding from the customer.
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Master’s degree or higher in engineering, finance, business administration or
other related field; - At least ten years of professional experience in energy efficiency project design
development and implementation, including project financing; - Experience working with the hotel and tourism sector in the Caribbean, financial
institutions and project developers; - Strong interpersonal and communication skills; and
- Fluency in English is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Work experience on clean energy development projects in the Caribbean is
preferred; - Equivalent experience on another donor funded program is desirable; and
- Knowledge of Jamaican Patois language is helpful.
