KSLP aims to help strengthen Sierra Leone’s health system by improving training, clinical services, policy and research. Key partners include the College of Medicine & Allied Health Sciences, Connaught Government Hospital (the main adult teaching and referral hospital) and the Ministry of Health & Sanitation. Since January 2013 King´s has had a small in-country team of volunteers, who are supported by senior experts from UK. The in-country team includes a Country Director and a range of key leads from a range of disciplines such as clinical work, hospital management, pharmacy & training, and nursing.
KSLP is looking to recruit a new Medical Educator for its in-country team as soon as possible,

be an opportunity to participate in some clinical work at Connaught Hospital, according to the
applicant’s speciality, with the majority of time being dedicated to working with COMAHS.
Specifically, the role will include the following areas of work:

 Implementation of the new medical curriculum with particular focus on the teaching and
assessment of clinical skills and new practice orientated modules.

 Supporting the faculty as they prepare to deliver OSCEs for the first time in 2016.

 Development of a clinical skills centre and support for faculty staff in utilising clinical training
equipment.

 Evaluation of the medical course in conjunction with staff and students.

 Mentoring and supporting faculty staff in developing their teaching and assessment skills.
 Liaise with the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences to ensure good integration with the Faculty
of Clinical Sciences and support the introduction of clinical modules in the pre-clinical years.
 Collaborate with the education and clinical teams to promote good teaching practice and
develop inter-professional teaching opportunities.
