The African Union, established as a unique Pan African continental body, is charged with spearheading Africa’s rapid integration and sustainable development by promoting unity, solidarity, cohesion and cooperation among the peoples of Africa and African States as well as developing a New Partnership worldwide. Its Headquarters is located in Addis Ababa, capital city of Ethiopia.
The Union is desirous of constructing an African Union Campus in Nairobi, Kenya to House all AU Agencies in Kenya.
Objectives
The main objectives of the Request for Expression of Interest is to obtain design proposals for the AU Campus project that depict African heritage.
The African Union now solicits eligible architects from all member countries to submit their expression of interest to render architectural and engineering services for the AU Campus project located in Nairobi, Kenya.
Eligibility
The tender is open to all Professional African Architects working and residing in Africa. Architects participating in the competition must be licensed/ certified/registered/authorized by a professional body of their country. The Architect/Firm should have experience of having successfully completed similar magnitude of works within the last 5 years.
Description of the Project
An African Union Campus located within the City of Nairobi on 1.214 hectares of land to accommodate the basic office requirements and layouts.
Interested bidders should submit the following documents:
- Letter of Expression of Interest - signed and sealed,
- Detailed company profile indicating verifiable previous experiences,
- Copies of registration certificates and business licenses,
- Audited Financial Statement for the past three years

Submission of Expression of Interest
One original and three copies of EOIs (must be received not later than Thursday, 16 July 2015 at 3:00pm local time. Late bid would be rejected and return unopened.

Information on the outer envelope should also include: on the top left side, boldly written; Expression of Interest for Architectural and Engineering Services. In the middle of the envelope should be the address. At the bottom right corner; write “Do not open, except in the presence of Evaluation Committee”
All EOIs received would be evaluated based on the company’s experience in similar assignment; valid registration certificates and trade license; annual turnover of not less than USD500,000.
Bidding Document would be sent to shortlisted companies that met our technical requirements for the final stage of the selection process. Prizes will be awarded to the top three designs and the first prize winner shall be awarded to develop the design and may eventually supervise the construction of the project.
