Position Purpose:
Pact seeks a Lead Program Management Specialist – Climate Change Adaptation for the anticipated four-year USAID-funded Moving Into The Future With The Youth (PaMawa ndi a Chinyamata or PaMawa) program in Malawi. This position is contingent upon funding.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical guidance and leadership of adaptation activities for the project.
• Develop and disseminate age and context appropriate communication products and messages for the project.
Basic Requirements:
• Demonstrated technical capacity for overseeing implementation of adaptation activities under PaMawa. This includes knowledge of the physical science of observed and projected climate change and associated development impacts, vulnerability analysis, and the design and implementation of adaptive response options. An understanding of the linkages between climate change and other areas of development investment is also essential.
• Strong technical communication abilities. Behavior change communication is central to PaMawa’s objectives. The Lead Program Management Specialist for Adaptation must possess relevant and demonstrated abilities to develop and disseminate age and context appropriate communication products and messages.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Chichewa and/or another local language.
