Project Manager, Kwale Girls Project
Location: Ukunda, Kwale County
Contract: Fixed-term until 30 June 2017

Build Africa is an international development organisation dedicated to finding long term solutions to poverty. For the rural communities we work with, education and livelihoods are key priorities, and we therefore aim to improve the quality of education enjoyed by children and to increase the ability of families to secure a sustainable livelihood. In 2014, a new organisational strategy was adopted, committing Build Africa to seven key approaches contributing to the education and livelihoods goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the Kwale Girls Project. You will lead a team of around ten staff from 3 partner organisations in making sure activities are implemented as per the agreed workplan, progress is monitored and evaluation, project finances are managed properly, and timely and accurate reporting takes place. The project manager will also represent Build Africa and the Kwale Girls Project locally and you will ensure key stakeholders are kept up-to-date with project progress.
You will bring with you extensive experience of project management, leadership, managing project teams and working with partner organisations. You have good knowledge of project cycle management, experience in child protection and safeguarding, and strong communication and people skills.
This position is offered on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2017 and will be based in our Ukunda office in Kwale County.
