OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
TVERT Experts required for Africa in the following disciplines –
All experts have a crucial role to play in implementing the contract. The expert’s team for the implementation of the project will be constituted by a minimum of 9 experts with the following
Profile
All selected experts will have:
§ Strong analytical skills
§ Communication/ persuasion skills
§ Strong networking skills
§ Presentation skills
§ Proven expertise in know-how transfer using training and coaching techniques
§ Proven experience in institutional capacity building and support to management in TVET System
§ Ability to communicate effectively with policy-makers, enterprises representatives and TVET Institutions managers, including ability to produce effective written communication in English (Or in French for experts expected to work in DR Congo).
All experts who have a crucial role in implementing the contract are referred to as key experts. The specific professional profiles of the key experts for this contract are as follows:
Expert 1: International Senior TVET Expert (Team Leader)
§ It is mandatory that the expert will have senior level in TVET reform strategy development for a Minimum ten years of experience on this field, it is also mandatory a proven implementation
§ Experience in TVET teachers institutional development for a minimum of 5 years.
§ It is desirable that the expert has TVET working experience in Africa, in particular in the SADC region and a good knowledge of current policy issues in TVET in the region for a minimum of 2 years.
§ She/He will also be responsible for the overall coordination of the activities and the expertise mobilised. In close collaboration with UNESCO team, he/she will ensure that activities are conducted in an appropriate and timely manner.
Expert 2: TVET Teacher Training Specialist (Construction sector)
§ It is mandatory for a minimum of five years’ experience in TVET teacher training in the construction sector.
§ It is desirable that she/he has experience in developing and implementing innovative and learner-centered pedagogy with clear focus on practical and workplace learning for a minimum of three years.
§ It is desirable that the expert has international experience on TVET teacher training programmes in Africa, in particular in the SADC region for a minimum of three years
Expert 3: TVET Teacher Training Specialist (Agro-food sector)
§ It is mandatory for a minimum of five years of experience in TVET teacher training in the Agro-food sector.
§ It is desirable that she/he has experience in developing and implementing innovative and learner-centered pedagogy with clear focus on practical and workplace learning for a minimum of three years.
§ It is desirable that the expert has international experience on TVET teacher training programmes in Africa, in particular in the SADC region for a minimum of three years.
Expert 4: TVET Teacher Training Specialist (Tourism sector)
§ It is mandatory for a minimum of five years of experience in TVET teacher training in the Tourism sector.
§ It is desirable that she/he has experience in developing and implementing Innovative and learner-centered pedagogy with clear focus on practical and workplace learning for a minimum of three years.
§ It is desirable that the expert has international experience on TVET Teacher training programmes in Africa, in particular in the SADC region for a minimum of three Years.
Expert 5: TVET Teacher Training Specialist (Agriculture sector)
§ It is mandatory for a minimum of five years of experience in TVET teacher training in the Agriculture sector.
§ It is desirable that she/he has experience in developing and implementing innovative and learner-cantered pedagogy with clear focus on practical and workplace learning for a minimum of three years.
§ It is desirable that the expert has international experience on TVET teacher training programmes in Africa, in particular in the SADC region for a minimum of three years
Expert 6: TVET Teacher Training Specialist (Metallic Construction)
§ It is mandatory for a minimum of five years of experience in TVET teacher training in the Metallic Construction sector.
§ It is desirable that she/he has experience in developing and implementing innovative and learner-centered pedagogy with clear focus on practical and workplace learning for a minimum of three years.
§ It is desirable that the expert has international experience on TVET teacher training programmes in Africa, in particular in the SADC region for a minimum of three years.
§ The expert in Metallic construction working in DR Congo must be a French native speaker or bilingual in French.
Expert 7: TVET Teacher Training Specialist (Electricity)
§ It is mandatory that for a minimum of five years of experience in TVET teacher training in the Electricity sector.
§ It is desirable that she/he has experience in developing and implementing innovative and learner-centered pedagogy with clear focus on practical and workplace learning for a minimum of three years.
§ It is desirable that the expert has international experience on TVET teacher training programmes in Africa, in particular in the SADC region for a minimum of three years.
§ The expert in Electrical works working in DR Congo must be a French native speaker or bilingual in French.
Expert 8: TVET Expert in Pedagogy
§ It is mandatory for a minimum of five years of experience in designing and conducting TVET teacher training programmes with a focus on pedagogical skills.
§ It is desirable that the expert has experience on developing innovative pedagogies, including the use of ICTs and workplace learning for a minimum of three years.
§ It is desirable that the expert has international experience on TVET teacher training programmes in Africa, particularly in the SADC region for a minimum of three years.
Expert 9: TVET Institution Management Specialist
§ It is mandatory for a minimum of five years of experience in designing and conducting TVET teacher training programmes in administrative skills.
§ It is mandatory that the candidate has experience on the field of autonomy of TVET institutions and partnership with enterprises and local environment for a minimum of three years.
§ It is desirable that the candidate has international experience on TVET teacher training programmes in Africa, particularly in the SADC region for a minimum of three years.
