Agriculture Quantitative Analyst, Performance Evaluation, Remote
Social Impact (SI) is a Washington, DC-area international development management consulting firm. SI services cross-cut all development sectors including democracy and governance, health and education, the environment, and economic growth. SI’s clients include US government agencies such as USAID, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the US Department of State, bilateral donors, multilateral development banks, foundations, and non-profits.
Project Objective:
Social Impact has been contracted for a performance evaluation of a large agriculture project. The evaluation utilizes a mixed-methods approach, including a quantitative farmer survey. Qualitative and quantitative data collection has concluded.
Position Description:
SI is seeking an Agriculture Quantitative Analyst to lead the analysis and reporting of results for 350 farmer surveys. The survey has already been designed and implemented, and SI is in the process of working with a local data collection firm to finalize data entry. The Agriculture Analyst will be responsible for a review of the survey instrument and the final dataset to develop and implement a plan for data analysis that answers the evaluation questions. In addition, the Agriculture Analyst will be responsible for the development of relevant charts, graphs, and tables and for incorporation of quantitative data findings and conclusions into the narrative report. The Agriculture Quantitative Analyst will work in collaboration with the evaluation team and will be supported by the Program Assistant. The expected start date for this position is August 24th, with up to 25 days LOE through October 31. No travel is expected for this assignment, and work may be done remotely.
Responsibilities:
  • Review of existing draft report.
  • Review of survey instrument.
  • Design proposed data analysis plan to answer four evaluation questions, including any variables to be generated for analysis.
  • Lead data analysis for dataset of 350 farmer surveys in STATA.
  • Incorporation of quantitative data findings into report through narrative, charts, and graphs.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum three years’ experience related to agriculture and quantitative data analysis.
  • Master’s degree required.
  • Proven experience designing, leading, implementing, and reporting on agricultural quantitative surveys.
  • Proven experience conducting data cleaning and descriptive statistics using STATA; ability to pass a STATA competency test.
  • Exceptional writing and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with the Haitian agricultural context and Feed the Future indicators preferred.
