You can make a difference at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). We are searching for an outstanding individual to complement our workforce as Chief of the Environment, Rural Development, and Disaster Risk Management Division (RND).
Based in Washington DC, the Division Chief will manage a team of qualified professionals and will be responsible for operational and non-operational activities in the areas of rural development agriculture, tourism, natural resources management, and disaster risk management, with the primary objective of ensuring development effectiveness of the IDB’s present and future lending portfolio in these areas.
To succeed in this role you should possess strong analytical skills acquired during 10-15 years of relevant experience and have a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of sector trends, challenges, and effectiveness of public policy instruments in the areas of rural development and agriculture in Latin America and the Caribbean. Holding a Master’s Degree or equivalent (Ph.D. preferred) in agricultural economics, natural resources economics, economics, or other relevant fields and fluency in English and Spanish are essential requirements for this position. Proficiency in French and/or Portuguese is desirable.
You must be a citizen of an IDB member country to qualify.
