CCM – Comitato Collaborazione Medica is an INGO founded in 1968 in Italy and specialized in the health sector. Its core mission is contributing to the development processes which safeguard and promote the right to health, by acting with an integrated approach on the health needs and by influencing the social-economical determinants. CCM aims at improving health conditions of the population in low‐income countries and intervenes through projects of international cooperation, education to the world citizenship, advocacy activities and interventions of health promotion in the context of migration processes.
CCM cooperates with the local communities and authorities to strengthen and develop the health systems, to improve accessibility to and the quality of prevention and health care services. CCM cooperates with local organizations and promotes an integrated approach to the health by working directly with other local and international organizations in cross-‐cutting sectors which help the complete well-being of the individual.
CCM has been continuously in South Sudan since 1983, with main focus on Warrap and Lakes States. In the country, CCM is MoH partner in supporting the development of integrated health and nutrition service delivery, to meet MoH priority targets according to the national health strategy and official guidelines.
In the counties where it is working (Tonj South of Warrap State, Awerial and Yirol East in Lakes State), CCM has combined support to primary health care services with Nutrition preventive and curative services. In those counties, CCM intervention mainly focuses on 32 target facilities (7 PHCCs and 25 PHCUs, with25 OTP and in 5 SCs) and targets malnutrition in remote or isolated areas.
CCM field offices in Tonj South, Yirol East and Awerial are located respectively in Tonj, Adior and Bunagogk.
To ensure smooth implementation of Nutrition activities in Tonj South, Awerial and Yirol East counties, CCM intends to recruit:

ANNEX I - TERMS OF REFERENCE
Position
Nutritionist
Objective of the position
Integrate nutrition services at PHCC/PHCU level in selected facilities in the (Tonj South, Awerial or Yirol East) county, to ensure the integration of malnutrition management with the preventive and curative care provided to P&LWs and to children under-5.
Roles and responsibilities
She/he in particular will:
- Build the capacity of local staff operating in CCM supported facilities, responsible for delivering preventive and curative nutrition services to children under five years and pregnant and lactating women, applying MoH and UNICEF guidelines for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of malnutrition;
- Ensure continuous observation, mentoring and coaching of local staff in CCM supported facilities, ensuring compliance with the basics nutrition knowledge in running nutrition services;
- Supervise the provision of OTP for SAM patients and ensure timely referral to the closest SC of complicated cases;
- Facilitate the integration of HIV/AIDS counseling/testing/curative services at PHCC/hospital level with nutrition services for P&LWs and U5;
- Take part to joint CCM-CHD (County Health Departments) outreaches sessions meant at improving nutrition surveillance in the project catchment areas;
- Take active part in the weekly planning and implementation of supervision activities in the supported health facilities promoting, in close collaboration with CCM-CC and the PHC supervisors team, an integrated and sole supervision of health and nutrition services at PHCC/U level;
- In close collaboration with CCM Project Managers and the PHC supervisors team, link and cooperate with the CHDs for the organization of joint supportive supervision activities and nutrition data collection and reporting, according to MoH standard requirements (DHIS/IDSR);
- Facilitate the organization of weekly nutrition, breast feeding and food preparation education session at facility level for patients and caretakers;
- Facilitate the organization of breast feeding and safe nutrition promotion campaigns for the community at large;
- In close collaboration with CCM Project Managers and the PHC supervisors’ team, support the revitalization of women’s groups, with the aim of raising community awareness on mother and child health (including safe nutrition);
- In close collaboration with CCM Project Managers and the PHC supervisors team, support the planning and undertaking of a nutrition survey in Awerial and Yirol East counties to retrieve reliable and updated data and allow proper institutional planning of interventions;
- Represent CCM in the Nutrition stakeholders’ fora at County and State Level (namely Nutrition Cluster meetings, Surveillance meetings, etc.);
- Monthly report to and discuss with CCM Project Managers and the PHC supervisors team on the Nutrition performances in the supported facilities, main challenges and lessons learnt;
- Support CCM Project Managers and the PHC supervisors’ team in the compilation of quarterly report for the donors.
Additional tasks:
- Closely collaborate with CCM project staff in the supervision of primary health care service provision at facility level (ANC, PNC, EPI, OPD, IPD, etc.), with main focus on P&LWs and U5;
- Closely collaborate with CCM project staff in the organization of training to local health personnel on epidemiological surveillance, prevention and treatment of communicable diseases, hygiene and sanitation promotion, FP/RH;
- Closely collaborate with CCM project staff in building CHDs capacities in planning, management, supervision and data reporting of health related services in the project catchment area.
- Report to his/her direct supervisor (County Coordinator/Project Manager).
Requirements
ü Minimum Education: Diploma in Nursing with specialization in Nutrition and/or strong nutrition background;
ü Minimum 4 years of experience in running nutrition programs in humanitarian contexts (with NGOs/CBOs or public health institutions);
ü Sound knowledge and working experience on Blanket Supplementary Feeding (BSFP), Targeted Supplementary feeding (TSFP), out-patient therapeutic (OTP) & Stabilization centers (SC);
ü Experience in nutrition related training roll-out;
ü Languages: fluency in English (knowledge of local language is an asset);
ü Excellent communication skills (oral & written);
ü Proficiency in computer (Word Processing and Excel);
ü High sense of responsibility, good organizational, coordination and time management skills;
ü Team player, flexibility and willingness to work in a remote, hardship and diverse environment.
