The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies. We enable vulnerable people in the UK and abroad to prepare for and withstand emergencies in their own communities. And when the crisis is over, we help them to recover and move on with their lives. Within the UK, the British Red Cross operates through around 26,000 volunteers and 3,000 staff based in the UK and a number of staff working overseas.

The British Red Cross is recruiting a short-term delegate to undertake a complex role which will inform programmatic support to the CRCA (Central African Republic Red Cross/Croix Rouge centrafricaine) and determine the future direction of a new partnership with the BRC.
The requirements for the role are:
* Fluent French and English
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A good understanding of civil society needs and dynamics in the CAR or similar context.
* Experience in organisational and capacity development including how to conduct assessments
* Experience of designing and facilitating workshops
* Some experience of supporting partners on communications plans/strategies
* Understanding of working in partnerships in CAR or WC Africa
* Understanding of community development and volunteer mobilisation
* Knowledge and understanding of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement.
* Understanding of operating in high risk security contexts is essential
* Self-sufficient in terms of admin (i.e. travel in country)
* Uphold the Fundamental Principles and act with integrity, in accordance with the Society's obligations and values (inclusive, compassionate, courageous, and dynamic).
* Ensure anti-discriminatory practice and promote diversity.
