Objectives
Finding, exploring, testing, implementing and scaling social innovations will be key to the process of reinventing capitalism. The purpose of the Chair is to systematically research concepts, methods and tools to identify, classify, evaluate, and prioritize social innovations across the globe; to gain meaningful insights into related successes and failures; to codify and communicate best practices; and to disseminate new knowledge to stakeholders and to future social innovators.
Applicant profile
Successful candidates will have a proven track record of teaching senior executives or the potential to become a successful executive educator, and will bring a highly innovative, managerially relevant research agenda. A Ph.D. is required as is the ability to teach in English.

The Chair-holder should also be:
- A well-respected scholar in a classical discipline of business management
- Able to work beyond the narrow confines of “foundation, charity, or CSR” domains
- Able to reconcile the imperatives of liberal capitalism with that of responsible social innovation
- Inspired to create research programs with real and practical impact
- A team player guided by strong values of proactive and respectful partnership with stakeholders internal and external to IMD.
