Fiji, in the South Pacific, is an archipelago of over 300 islands, with a total population of over 800,000 people. The country is known for the beauty of its coastline and rugged mountain landscape, is a major tourist hub, and has a growing economy. 
The Fiji Public Service Commission is leading the recruitment and appointment of a number of Permanent Secretaries as part of the renewal of the public service for the Government of Fiji.  Permanent Secretaries are heads of Government Ministries, responsible for the leadership and management of their Ministries and for policy support and advice. 
Permanent Secretaries are being sought across multiple areas including areas such as the Office of the Prime Minister, Education, Finance, Local Government, Infrastructure and Transport, Agriculture, Fisheries and Forests, Employment, Lands and Mineral Resources, Justice, Defence, and Youth and Sports. 
High quality candidates for each role will have strong, relevant executive leadership and management experience and capabilities. They will be able to personally contribute to shaping the strategic directions, policies and programs of their Ministry. They will have demonstrable experience in dealing with complex issues, and the intellect and judgement to develop appropriate solutions. They will be effective communicators who build organisational capability with a culture of achievement, excellence and improvement. They will exemplify professionalism and integrity in personal behaviour, and be strong relationship builders.
