Events Officer
Salary: £24,248 to £27,256 per annum
The International Growth Centre (IGC) aims to promote sustainable growth in developing countries by providing demand-led policy advice based on frontier research. IGC hosts a series of ambitious events in the UK and in Africa and South Asia that bring together some of the top academics in the world with senior policy makers from our partner country governments. These events engage policy makers and other stakeholders with IGC ideas and research findings on economic growth and provide a forum for networking and matchmaking. 
The IGC Events Officer will provide organisational and logistical support for all UK events for the IGC, covering conferences, public lectures, seminars and talks; ensuring events are well planned and run smoothly. The role will also provide guidance and support to IGC events held abroad, through working closely with IGC staff in our partner countries. S/he will work closely with LSE Events office on events held at LSE and liaise with colleagues on the event programme. 
The successful applicant will

  • Work well in a team with a flexible approach.      
This is a full-time position based in the IGC Hub at LSE, in central London. Some international travel is anticipated. The role will be offered on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2017, with extension subject to funding.   It is anticipated confirmation of further funding will, in the first instance, be for 3 more years.
