CEO WWF-France

WWF-France, established in 1973, is the French branch of the world's largest environmental protection organisation, and has over 200,000 members, about 75 staff, and an annual budget of about €16 million.

WWF-France is now recruiting a CEO to lead the office and make it the go-to organisation in France with respect to environmental issues. The CEO will be responsible for managing, with the help of the senior management team, the overall direction of the organisation, including finances and operations, management, strategy, and fundraising.  The CEO will have a strong public and private sector network and capacity to engage with these actors at the highest levels, and have exceptional communications skills.
 
WWF France headquarters in Paris, France.
 

Main responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for WWF-France; The CEO will build strong relationships with research partners and the WWF network, as well as partners in civil society and the public and private sectors. S/he will also promote messages developed by WWF-France and encourage their adoption by policy makers and conservation practitioners.
  • Ensure optimal financial management, strong leadership, and manage the organisation through transition and growth
  • Oversee the development of innovative communications campaigns and themes that will promote WWF-France.
  • As a key spokesperson for WWF-France, set a standard by intellectually and emotionally engaging multiple constituencies –Senior policy makers, civil society and corporate leaders, senior academics and board members, and a wide rage of public audiences- and doing so in a wide range of settings and through various media.
  • Strengthen and maintain collaborative relationships with the WWF network.
  • Supervise, in coordination with the board, the development of a financial strategy and manage plan to advance the organization’s strategic goals and objectives with external audiences.


What you need:


  • Engineer, PhD or equivalent,
  • Proven experience of leading and managing an organization through transition and growth,
  • Experience in organisational development  and managing multi-disciplinary teams,
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A record of strong leadership.
  • Strong public-speaking and influencing skills, and a successful experience with the media
  • At ease and effective with influential contacts and networks. Coming with a network of relationships across the environmental community.
  • Proven financial and organisational management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a multi-cultural environment.
  • A track record of leadership on environmental issues is highly desirable
  • French and excellent written and spoken English.
  • Adheres to WWF’s values, which are: Knowledgeable, Optimistic, Determined, Engaging.
