The British Red Cross are currently looking for experienced Sanitation Engineers with International experience who are willing to travel at short notice (24 – 48 hours) to relief operations for one month per year. Roster members must be within 6 hours travel time of London whilst 'on call.'
Sanitation engineers must have a strong technical base and experience of leading emergency sanitation programs, including both hardware and software activities, for international humanitarian organizations. Candidates will need to have substantial international experience. Experience also in water supply and hygiene promotion is strongly preferred.
Candidates who are already in employment but who can be released at short notice are welcome to apply.
Please note, to be accepted as an ERU delegate you will be required to attend the following training:
- IMPACT- March 2016 – 5 day residential course
- ERU Foundation- April 2016- 7 to 8 day residential course
- MSM Specialist – Late August 2016- Dates TBC
- Security training – Approximately 3 days, 2016 Dates TBC
- Driver training – 2 days, 2016 Dates TBC
Closing date for receipt of completed applications is 16th November 2015.
Successful applicants will be invited to complete a technical test followed by a telephone technical interview in December 2015. Candidates who pass this stage of the selection process will be invited to a Selection Day in London in January or February 2016.
