Duties
The Principal Sector Specialist Infrastructure (PSS Infrastructure) will have a leadership role in developing the department’s infrastructure policies, overseeing implementation of the economic infrastructure strategy and providing policy and technical support to existing and
planned infrastructure investments at the bilateral, regional and global programming levels. The PSS Infrastructure will provide advice and guidance on new programs in which the Australian Government is investing, such as the Asia Pacific Project Preparation Facility and the Global Infrastructure Facility, and on infrastructure matters raised in APEC, ASEAN, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the G20. An important part of the PSS Infrastructure’s role will be supporting management of infrastructure program risks. These include managing issues such as displacement and resettlement, project cost overruns and delays, and supporting policy and governance reforms in emerging and developing economies.

Infrastructure or related post graduate qualifications at masters or higher level or relevant experience.

The department may extent the initial nonongoing
term to three years, with possible extensions to a maximum of five years. The department may also decide to make this position ongoing (permanent) within the first twelve months.
