Team Leader - Technical assistance for increased agricultural production of smallholders in South Sudan
Objective of the Programme
The overall objective is to increase food security, reduce vulnerability and enhance the livelihoods of rural households in South Sudan. The technical assistance procured under this contract will provide support and advisory services to projects managed by implementing partners and funded under the EU's rural development programmes in South Sudan for the effective programming, implementation, monitoring and coordination of these actions. The technical assistance will support the harmonisation of key approaches and facilitate the implementation of extension services provided by implementing partners to final beneficiaries. The technical assistance will design and deliver targeted training on-demand to complement the extension package being implemented thus far. The project will also support policy dialogue and consultation at the national level.
Experience and Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in rural development or agricultural related subjects. 10 years extra experience can be substituted in the case of a degree classified as non-relevant to this programme.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a team leader.
- Experience of legal and policy development in the agricultural sector in a sub-Saharan African context.
- Comfortable working with high level officials and ministries supporting policy dialogue and consultation.
- 10 years of experience of working on agricultural production and extension programmes.
- Previous experience in design and delivery of training modules for government/beneficiary staff.
- Familiar with the South Sudan context and/or experience working in conflict affected zones.
- Extensive experience working on EU funded projects and with the EU methodologies (PCM, PRAG etc.)
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
