Rule of law, criminal justice and capacity building expert

Qualifications
A post-graduate degree (or equivalent) in law.
General professional experience
  • Experience of managing at least one similar EU-supported programme in Africa, preferably in Ghana or the region.
  • Excellent team building and results-based management skills.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation and excellent report writing skills.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both orally and written.
  • Demonstrable ability to write in plain language.
  • Previous experience with the human rights based approach to development.
Specific professional experience
  • At least 15 years experience with common law-based system. Experience with common law the justice system in West Africa will be a distinct advantage.
  • At least 10 years experience in designing, developing and conducting training activities for members of the criminal justice system in common law countries.
  • At least 10 years experience in training and training of trainers.
  • Experience with civil society, the media and Parliaments. Experience with civil society, the media and Parliament in West Africa will be a distinct advantage
  • Previous experience as a prosecutor and/or with working with police prosecutors will be a distinct advantage.
