Objective of the Programme
The overall objective is to increase food security, reduce vulnerability and enhance the livelihoods of rural households in South Sudan. The technical assistance procured under this contract will provide support and advisory services to projects managed by implementing partners and funded under the EU's rural development programmes in South Sudan for the effective programming, implementation, monitoring and coordination of these actions. The technical assistance will support the harmonisation of key approaches and facilitate the implementation of extension services provided by implementing partners to final beneficiaries. The technical assistance will design and deliver targeted training on-demand to complement the extension package being implemented thus far. The project will also support policy dialogue and consultation at the national level.
Experience and Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree or equivalent in food security or related fields. 10 years extra experience can be substituted in the case of a degree classified as non-relevant to this programme.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience working in the agricultural sector in development context required.
- Knowledge of global best practices and key approaches facilitating the implementation of extension services are required.
- Previous experience in design and delivery of workshops aimed at local smallholders to increase their technical capacity.
- Familiarity with the South Sudan context preferable.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Experience on EU funded projects is an advantage.
