Position: Grant Writing Intern

Organization Summary
Children's Future is uniquely positioned to empower children and youth to break the cycle of poverty. Children’s Future holistic services provide basic needs supports, prevent human trafficking, and grant access to education for some of the most resource poor and vulnerable children in Cambodia. Children’s Future serves hundreds of children and youth that were previously not attending school and at risk of human trafficking and child labor. Children’s Future programs focus intently on ensuring that youth stay in school, attend higher education and have the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential and become positive role models, qualified professionals, and compassionate community leaders.

· Some of the most vulnerable children in Cambodia will be given the opportunity to receive quality education, leading to professional careers
· Entire families will escape the cycle of poverty
Initial Impact
· Students served by the Children’s Future Learning Center will be safe, healthy, and in school

Key Responsibilities
· Help to manage and update potential grant funders spreadsheet
· Thoroughly research applicable grant funders
· Manage and optimize grant identification process and tracking
· Use organizational information to draft grant applications
· Edit and review grants written by staff
· Assist in compiling necessary appendices and citations for grants
· Undertake other research tasks, as needed
· Assist in fundraising events, as needed
· Other tasks deemed appropriate and relevant to you and the organization
Training
· Continuous training from Grants Director in all areas
· Occasional international development trainings at Posner Center
· Potential trainings in other platforms essential to nonprofits (i.e. Salesforce)
Support
· Ongoing support and supervision from Grants Director
Commitment
· 1 semester or length of summer, minimum
· 15-30 hours per week, flexible
· Flexible schedule
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree, or in process, in related field preferred
· Experience or interest in international development or nonprofits preferred
· Skilled in conducting research, compiling information, and keeping track of deadlines
· Knowledge of the grant writing process preferred
· Excellent writing and organizational skills
· Willingness to learn new skills and work on a multitude of projects
· Detail-oriented, motivated, and self-directed
· Optimist who believes the world can be a better place
· A commitment to Children’s Future’s mission
