help2kids Field Manager Tanzania

by Unknown  |  at  12:11 AM

help2kids, a young and dynamic Swiss non profit organization, is looking for a Field Manager in Tanzania to supervise our projects.
help2kids is a young, dynamic organization located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania's largest city, which is situated on the Indian Ocean and in Lifuwu, a small village on Lake Malawi in Malawi. We help orphans by providing food, shelter, and lots of love at our children's home. We help the community by providing support to local primary and nursery schools.
We are running the following aid projects in Dar es Salaam (Mbezi Beach and Bunju area):
  • A children home for up to 35 children,
  • A primary school with up to 300 children,
  • A nursery school for up to 50 children, and
  • A health project serving over 500 children.
More information about us and our projects can be found here: www.help2kids.org.
You will oversee and work in collaboration with the Programme Managers (for education and health) and interns in Tanzania. In addition, you will work in a team with the Field Manager in Malawi.
What we require:
  • Management skills, ability to manage various tasks at the same time, high ability to work under pressure and attention to detail. Strong work ethic.
  • Accounting and budgeting skills and experience in working with Excel.
  • Ability to manage and guide up to 30 employees and several international interns.
  • Strong social skills and ability to work with people from all over the world. Work well with team of local staff, foreign staff and international volunteers.
  • You should be able to lead people in a positive way and to create a positive and supporting athmosphere. We are looking for a "team-player", an outgoing personality with communication skills, integrity and passion for what we do.
  • Flexibility, creativity and open mindness. Tanzania can be a tricky environment and to manage projects successfully it needs a lot of creativity and new ideas to get things done. You should be highly flexible to adapt quickly to new problems and challenges. With your creativity you should be a "problem-solver" and able to work in a changing environment.
  • Experience with social media like Facebook and Youtube. You should enjoy being a person seen on various social media platforms. The job requires also to manage our website (such as blog), Facebook and to keep in touch with our followers by posting regularly (we have a marketing intern for these tasks but you should oversee these activities).
  • Commitment for at least 1-2 years.
  • Passion to work in an international environment with a lot of different cultures and to be always present for our children, employees and volunteers if needed.
We are gladly receiving applications from all over the world. We are looking for someone willing to start latest by December 1, 2015. Of course working experience in East-Africa is required and some basic knowledge of Swahili is an asset.
The salary will be determined based on the experience. However, it starts modestly and there is potential for increase depending on performance and length of stay. We also provide one roundtrip flight home per year (to Europe, for other destinations you have to pay the price difference), housing allowance, cell phone and a car. We grant five weeks of paid holidays per year.

HOW TO APPLY:
Please send us your CV and cover letter to applications@help2kids.org. We will only respond to applications who we consider to invite for an interview.
Please indicate: When could you start working for us and how long would you be willing to commit?
We are looking forward to receiving your application.
Asante sana (thank you in Swahili).
