Rule of Law Division is seeking an individual consultant to support the development of an online legal knowledge exchange portal.
The aim of the Legal Knowledge Exchange Portal is to act as a tool for strengthening coordination of Commonwealth Secretariat legal work; for sharing and disseminating legal knowledge; and for facilitating the delivery of legal technical assistance to member state partners.
The overall purpose of the consultancy is to advise on the range of legal materials to be included in the Legal Knowledge Exchange Portal; to develop a classification of legal materials, including a key word system; and to research and identify legal materials for inclusion in the Knowledge Exchange Portal.
To apply, you will be able to demonstrate qualifications and/or experience in one or more of the following respects:
- Degree in law with an emphasis on legal research, drafting and analysis.
- An advanced degree in law is an asset;Minimum of 3 years’ experience in legal policy and research, or legal practice, including experience of in-depth analysis of national legislation;
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines;Excellent analytical and evaluative skills;
- Fluency in English required;
- Experience with knowledge management, database or website content management systems is an asset;
- Experience gained from consultancy work for other international organizations is highly desirable.
Commonwealth nationals will have priority in consideration for the consultancy assignment.
