Roles and Responsibilities
URC is recruiting for a Technical Director/Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Advisor for an upcoming integrated health services delivery program in Malawi. This individual must assist the Deputy COP in the design, roll-out and day to day management and implementation of WASH activities, including work with district and other local WASH management or promotion structures or groups and community mobilization around WASH issues. S/he must have the following qualifications, skills and experience necessary to support to be written:
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Sciences or a related field;
- Minimum eight years’ experience with progressively increasing responsibility for designing, managing and implementing complex WASH programming in developing countries involving multiple stakeholders and implementing partners;
- Private sector experience particularly working with private sector entities to promote a market-based approach to the provision of WASH-related products highly desired.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in building government, nongovernment, and community capacity to address WASH issues; and
- Demonstrated management skills, including relevant experience in direct supervision of professional staff.
