by Unknown  |  at  10:06 PM

Save the Children is currently recruiting for several critical positions as part of Save the Children for the Read Liberia! Project to be funded by USAID.
We are seeking an experienced Parent and Community Engagement Advisor that will provide leadership to the parent, community and private support for early grade reading (EGR) in select counties of Liberia. The Advisor will be responsible for project implementation that relates to increasing parents’ understanding and support of EGR, improving parents’ ability to implement specific strategies to support EGR, and improving community members’ and CBO’s ability to support and monitor EGR. She/he will report directly to the Senior Reading Director and will advise and support in providing technical direction to project implementation and ensure the project meets stated goals, expected results and reporting requirements. She/he will take technical leadership role in coordination with government, local community organizations, and other partners. She/he will be knowledgeable about evidence-based and state-of-the-art EGR approaches.
We are also recruiting for an Early Grade Reading SBCC Specialist who will be responsible for leading the design and implementation for a campaign to increase parents’ understanding of the evidence base that now exists in early grade reading, how that evidence base is relevant to their children’s education, and what they can do to support their children’s reading success. The program’s behavior change approach will be grounded in formative research at the community level, and promote behavior change at the individual, household, community levels and where possible the institutional levels, in communities where this knowledge is lacking. The Specialist will be responsible for the development of strategic plans, technical materials, communication tools, training packages, aids, guidelines and standards to be used; as well as the creative application of mobile technologies, community forums and peer groups.
