General Background of Project or Assignment:
The Division of Programme Support and Management (DPSM) provides UNHCR field operations with the expertize, information and tools necessary to design, deliver and improve UNHCR programmes in terms of quality, technical integrity and innovation.
The Division of Programme Support and Management (DPSM) provides UNHCR field operations with the expertize, information and tools necessary to design, deliver and improve UNHCR programmes in terms of quality, technical integrity and innovation.
The Division of Programme Support and Management would like to hire a graphic designer to support communication of the division’s vision and strategic initiatives as well as its achievements through visibility and advocacy materials. The material consists of strategy documents, leaflets and brochures as well as any other design materials with pictures, graphs and texts.
DPSM has developed a standard format for design and layout in line with the UNHCR Brand Book, to ensure consistency and efficiency, and the selected designer will be requested to follow the branding policy of UNHCR in full.
Tasks:
Under the supervision of the requesting Section Chiefs and the Office of the Director of DPSM, the consultant would be specifically in charge of:

- Providing a proposed design of the layout,
- Changing the layout as needed,
- Ensure consistency and branding of DPSM publications to UNHCR standard format
- Liaising with the Director’s Office or individual procuring the work with regard to compatibility of photos files and texts.
- She/ He would also undertake other tasks as needed to support the redesign process of the requested design/layout.
Purpose and conditions of assignment:
To ensure continuity and timely delivery of DPSM outputs. The specific details of the outputs will provided to the selected applicant in the form of a work plan. However, the Division maintains some flexibillity to adjust the page limits and deadlines of the final outputs with or without cost involvement depending on the magntitude of the change. The details of this particularity will be explicitly outlined in each workplan signed by both parties at the time of the assignment request, including segments of agreed outputs detailing margins of change and their relevant costs as applicable.

Qualification and Experience of applicants:
- Degree and professional qualification in Graphic Design;
- Experience in graphic production;
- Knowledge of UNHCR programmes, humanitarian or refugee work is an asset;
- Working knowledge of English, French an asset

The Final Product will be delievered periodically, and work will be payed on the basis of time employed. The specifications of the final product are as follows:
- Final layout and design in web based version
- Final layout and design in high resolution printing version.
- Number of pages: to be agreed upon but no less than 850
- Language(s): English, French, Arabic
- Number of copies: High resolution version for printing and version for websites.
