To effectively plan and schedule production requirements of semi-finished goods (filters, CRT, boxes) within achievable output whilst ensuring uninterrupted supply to customers, maintaining optimal stock levels as well as continuously optimising production resources within company policies and procedures.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• To ensure 100% availability of SFG for FG production and SFG export customers
o Demand capturing of SMD and Exports.
o Reconciled current stock position to ensure immediate supply.
o Re-plan future production requirements to meet future demand (weekly control cycles).
• Compile timeous achievable production plan in weekly and daily buckets to ensure adequate stocks of SFGs
o Liaise with factory of previous week’s production performance.
o Co-operate with the factories to handle exceptions by determining the most efficient way to use scarce resources e.g. overtime, additional labour crews and additional machines.
o Co-operate communicate effectively with the factories to develop strategies for synchronising erratic Export requirements with own requirements in such a way that the negative effect on production resources is minimised.
o Determine strategies in terms of incremental production quantities (lot sizes) etc.
o Determine strategies for periods of instability in production to ensure that adequate volumes are produced for uninterrupted supplies to meet customer demand
o Determine safety stocks at factory by taking risks of production, sales forecasts, and unexpected demand and maturation requirements into account.
o Liaise with Supply Planners for Wrapping Materials (WMS) and Leaf (weekly MPS) regarding availability of WMS and Leaf.
o Level future production requirements to within agreed capacity per packing format group.
• Continuously optimise stock levels of finished goods to ensure lowest possible working capital
o Optimise inventory levels at factory by analysing the components of inventory, by determining the risks involved, by controlling safety stock.
• Master data maintenance of Supply Planning software tool:
o Maintain and update information planning system to ensure current and up to date planning information
o SKU’s, factory shutdowns, public holidays, safety stock levels, production run sizes, machine crewed capacities, etc.
• Compile accurate & detailed Supply Chain reports
o Internal progress reports - Annual Company plan, Quarterly business review, Monthly performance review, Pre-SOP and SOP, measures of success.
o External progress reports – Export customers.
• Ad hoc responsibilities.
o Ongoing projects and scenario’s
o Special marketing ventures.
o Planning/reporting systems optimisation.
