Position Summary
IREX seeks a Communications Specialist for the USAID-funded Egypt Higher Education Partnerships Program. The program seeks to strengthen Egyptian higher education institutions and enhance their ability to develop a globally competitive Egyptian workforce by supporting 15 to 20 partnerships between universities, technical colleges, and the private sector in Egypt and the United States, and to provide technical assistance to the Egyptian public higher education system. The Communications Specialist will conduct and coordinate project communication activities, and will ensure that project staff and partners understand and implement the project communications strategy and adhere to communications guidelines.
The position is contingent on funding.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of the program communications strategy
  • Develop content supporting program outreach through digital, visual and text platforms
  • Engage with partners to support their communications efforts as well as contributions to overall project outreach strategy
  • Provide required communications inputs to project reporting
  • Represent IREX publicly and support its organizational development
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working on USAID-funded projects with responsibilities for communications, outreach campaigns, and media engagement required
  • Proficiency with social media, mobile platforms and multimedia content required
  • Field experience is required with experience in Egypt or the MENA region preferred
  • Outstanding interpersonal, and cross-cultural skills required
  • Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and versatility
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English required; proficiency in Arabic preferred
