WWF will be recruiting 6 volunteers for a 4-month assignment with WWF Madagascar project "Gestion des mangroves et des pêches et amelioration des conditions de vie de la population locale", Ankazomborona & Ambaro Nord. Terms of Reference and Project Factsheet will be posted soonest.
Assignment dates: 30 April to 30 August 2015
Language required: good spoken French
Required qualifications, skills & competencies
- Coaching skills in the field of environmental education;
- Capacity in the design and use of communication tools;
- Mastering or familiarity with the techniques of shooting (photos and video);
- Motivated to work in remote sites with difficult conditions;
- Good physical condition with ability to do long distance on foot;
- Commitment to conservation;
- Empathy towards rural population & capacity for integrating into the local community;
- Ability to adapt to a changing situation and difficult conditions, e.g. clean water scarcity, no phone connexion, no electricity, walking in rugged or muddy terrain, or in rice fields, etc;
- A challenging and supportive attitude when facing problems;
- Ability to work respectfully in cross-cultural situations;
- Acceptation of direction from supervisors & ability to provide feedback to supervisors;
- Ability to consult supervisors before taking personal decisions relating to the programme;
- A collaborative approach to working with colleagues & a positive influence on team mates;
