ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
LFS Financial Systems GmbH (LFS) is an advisory and management firm based in Berlin, Germany specialized in MSME finance. Its major clients include the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KfW), among others. LFS has built a network of specialized small business banks (AccessBanks) for which it acts as the management company and holds significant ownership.
ABOUT THE JOB:
LFS is seeking an Agricultural Lending Expert - Africa. S/he will be responsible for delivering a series of agricultural lending projects, both within the network of (African) AccessHolding banks under organization's management and also with advisory clients not under organization's management.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement new agricultural lending products and processes as well as enhancement and expansion of respective operations;
- Specific tasks, team structures, deployment locations, and other terms and conditions will be determined based on project development and specific skills and qualifications.
Qualifications:
- At least 7 years work experience in rural and agricultural lending (of which at least 3 years as an expatriate advisor);
- Proven track record of successful development/management of commercial agricultural lending operations;
- Experience in designing products and implementing specific lending schemes to meet the demand of the rural and agricultural sector;
- Proven track record in training MSME and agricultural loan officers in lending operations in transition and/or developing countries;
- Full oral and written fluency in English;
- Excellent communication and report writing skills;
- Willingness to travel internationally, especially within rural Africa, including for possible medium to longer-term relocations.
