International Alert is recruiting a small team of enthusiastic volunteers to help before and during an exciting new exhibition on Kenya at Hoxton Gallery in London (9-15 February 2015).

It will feature photography, talks and a pop-up flower ‘shop’.
We are looking for people to carry out the following tasks:
  • Front of house(welcoming visitors into the exhibition space; engaging with visitors and ensuring they have an enjoyable visit; being on hand at the exhibition and evening events to make sure everything runs smoothly)
  • Promotion and publicity(flyering, social media, blogging)
Volunteers will be required:
· To be friendly/approachable
· To be self-motivated with a positive attitude to working in a team
· To be flexible and willing to adapt to changing demands
· To be presentable and professional
Ideally, we’re also looking for volunteers who:
· Have an interest in Kenya, peacebuilding, international development, climate change, and other related issues
· Have experience working with social media, writing, photography and video
How much time we require:
The exhibition will run from Monday 9 FebruarytoSunday 15 February (12pm-8pm).
Shifts are either 12pm-6pm, or 2pm-8pm.
Ideally, we would like someone for at least three-four shifts over the week, but we are flexible about the hours and days you volunteer.
We’re also looking for volunteers to help with promotion and setting up in the run up to the exhibition.
What we offer:
An opportunity to take part in a cutting-edge project, enhance your skills, meet interesting people and learn about the fascinating work of peacebuilding.
If you incur expenses as part of your role, we can reimburse lunch expenses of up to £5.00 a day for volunteers working a minimum of four hours per day.
Volunteers will also have their work-related travel expenses within London reimbursed. Volunteers are encouraged to travel after 9.30 a.m. and to purchase a travel card.
